The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Wednesday donated P2 million worth of relief goods for the earthquake-affected families in Makilala, North Cotabato.
PNP's officer-in-charge, Police Lieutenant Archie Francisco Gamboa, visited the province to tour the compound of Makilala Municipal Hall including the Makilala Municipal Police Station to check on damage that resulted from the earthquakes last week.
"PLtGen Gamboa also turned-over the P2 million worth of relief goods intended for the affected families in Region 12," said Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, the PNP spokesman, in a statement.
Banac said these came from a donation drive announced by Gamboa last Monday.
Gamboa urged all policemen to donate at least P10 for the affected constituents in Mindanao.
"All goods received by officials of local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council," he said.
The Police Regional Office 12 said donated were 2,500 plastics pails which contains five cans of sardines, five bottled waters, one pack of biscuit, one dozen instant coffee, seven cans of beef loaf, four cans of corned beef, eight pcs noodles, and five kilos of rice.
These will be distributed to people of Makilala.
Gamboa will also provide financial assistance to policemen assigned in the province and in other affected regions in Mindanao. Ella Dionisio/DMS
