PNP-IAS hope to clear backlog by end-2019
November 15, 2019
The Philippine National Police- Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) hopes to clear their backlogs by the end of 2019.
Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo, IAS chief, told reporters Friday they recently launched a digitalization program for them to immediately solve cases.
"We also have this project called zero backlog... as of now we have 90 percent disposal of our cases," Triambulo said.
He said they are only 500 cases to be resolved out of the 5,000 they have now.
Triambulo said they expect to finish everything by the "end of December".
"Surely we are going to our mission to be a strong independent IAS of PNP," he said.
Asked on IAS relationship with the PNP's officer-in-charge, Triambulo said Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa is very supportive.
"The OIC ( Gamboa) is very supportive on IAS because he can also see that the internal cleansing program of PNP needs IAS to make it credible," he said.
With the construction of their P120 million four-storey building, Triambulo said this could motivate them.
"Your prestige increases, from neglect to recognized unit," he said.
"We are very happy because there will be a future building unlike before that we are at the PNP service store which is an abandoned building of PNP," he said.
