PNP-IMEG conducted 3-day anti-gambling operation

The Philippine National Police- Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) conducted three-day simultaneous anti-illegal gambling operation.
In a statement, IMEG said their operation is in coordination with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) which resulted to the confiscation of 19 video karera machine, 36 fruit game machines, and cash bet amounting to P39, 670.
They were also able to arrest eight people in the act of betting in Caloocan City, Muntinlupa City and Pasay City last January 31 to February 2.
Police Captain Mae Ann Cunanan, IMEG spokesperson, said charges for violating Presidential Decree 1602 were filed against the suspects and the confiscated items are in their custody.
In a press briefing, acting NCRPO chief Police Major General Debold Sinas said no police officer was caught during the operations.
“We are waiting for the report of IMEG for any report of cops involved in illegal gambling,” Sinas said.
He said they will conduct another simultaneous operation against illegal gambling. Ella Dionisio/DMS
