PNP looking into allegation gov’t abducted ex-police officer

The Philippine National Police ( PNP) said they are investigating the claim of former police officer Eduardo Acierto it was the government which abducted retired police Major Lito Pirote.
In a video posted online, Acierto accused the government of abducting Pirote on Black Saturday, April 20.
“That is being investigated, I just talked to the regional director ( Western Visayas) earlier. They have CCTV footage there and I think they were able to get a conduction sticker of the vehicle (used in kidnapping Pirote),” Police General Oscar Albayalde, the PNP head, said.
Albayalde said the conduction sticker does not match the vehicle.
“So this is part of the investigation that is being conducted by SITG (Special Investigation Task Group) Pirote,” said Albayalde.
According to reports, the video released by Acierto looked like he left the country but according to Albayalde there are no records of his exit.
“We saw that video also but based on the latest verification of BID (Bureau of Investigation) although it's unofficial, it appears that he has not yet (gone) out ( of the country). He does not have exit (record) unless he went out through the backdoor,” he said.
Albayalde said they have tracker teams not only on Acierto but on former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Deputy Director for Administration Ismael Fajardo.
The two officials are in the warrant of arrest released by a court for their involvement in illegal drugs. Ella Dionisio/DMS
