“Remember the Philippine National Police is always a part of the disaster organization in different localities so it’s not only the Maritime (Group). We are alerting all our police forces to help the local government unit,” said Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa, PNP officer-in-charge, in an interview with reporters at Camp Crame.
In an earlier statement, PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac said police were ordered to be alert, especially in areas where ''Ramon'' is expected.
“And ready to provide assistance to the LGU ( local government units), DRRMCs ( disaster risk reduction and management council), and people anytime when needed,” Banac said.
“We assure the public that the PNP is always prepared to respond to any emergency, disaster or calamity to ensure safety and security of our people,” he added.
