PNP orders immediate probe on radio commentator’s killing

The Philippine National Police ( PNP) on Thursday ordered an immediate investigation on the killing of a radio anchor in Kidapawan City last night.
“PNP chief, Police General Oscar Albayalde has directed the Police Regional Office 12 under Police Brigadier General Eliseo Rasco, Regional Director for immediate investigation of the incident to identify the suspects and make them accountable before the law,” Police Colonel Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, said in a statement.
Eduardo Dizon, 58, Brigada News- Kidapawan City radio commentator, was shot around 10:25 pm by unidentified suspects while he was on his vehicle along National Highway, Quezon Boulevard corner Diversion Road, Sinsuat Street in Kidapawan City.
The victim was going home when he was shot five times, said police.
The suspects fled towards Davao City but authorities were able to recover seven fired cartridges of a 9 mm pistol.
Banac said the PNP remains committed in ensuring the safety and protection of all journalists and members of the media.
“We are part of the Presidential Task Force for Media and Security created by the President (Rodrigo Duterte) to ensure safety and protection of all mediamen,” he said.
