The Philippine National Police ( PNP) on Monday said they are investigating the killing of radio commentator in Butuan City before critics take advantage on the incident.
Police General Oscar Albayalde, the PNP head, said he ordered local police to investigate the death of Francisco Patindol of dxJM who was stabbed by a drunken suspect last Saturday.
“Someone might take advantage again that will say journalists here are in danger. We are not saying that this is one isolated case that we are actually neglect it,” he said.
“And of course the timeline we are giving is as soon as possible… we want this case to be solved as soon as possible,” he added.
Albayalde said they are looking at personal grudge as a possible motive.
“Most probably that’s a bit personal because usually a person that was stabbed, we see it as personal vengeance or personal grudge,” he said.
He said they want to immediately file a case against the suspect.
