PNP ready to undergo lifestyle check
October 8, 2019
The Philippine National Police ( PNP) on Tuesday said they are ready to undergo another lifestyle check following the "ninja cops" issue.
Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson said the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) conducts a lifestyle check yearly.
"Actually our lifestyle check is already done but if they will order us to conduct again, the PNP is ready," Banac said.
He said all police officers have to undergo the process to find out if they are living more than what their salary can afford.
Banac added as of now, no cops violated the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standard for Public Officials.
The PNP statement came after the Malacanang agreed on the suggestion for cops to go lifestyle check.
"As what we have mentioned, we are doing this regularly as it is part of the law," Banac said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
