PNP requests Senate to reveal executive session details on ” ninja cops”

October 7, 2019

There is an internal struggle in the Philippine National Police (PNP) that’s why Police General Oscar Albayalde is requesting Senate to reveal their executive session where ''ninja cops'' were mentioned.

“They said it will be made public. My question now here is why until now it is not made in public?,” asked Albayalde amid rumors that Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong endorsed the next PNP chief during the executive session.

Magalong used to head the PNP's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group ( CIDG).

“In fairness and for impartiality… in fairness to the people and the whole world probably. Let’s released the (details) then we can found out where it all started. As I’ve said, I can only believe- in my opinion, there is always an internal struggle in the PNP,” he added.

Albayalde said under their organization, not only the patrol officer is the problem.

“Even officers and senior officers especially so if we are talking probably are key positions and most especially the top or the highest position in the PNP,” he said.

The PNP chief said this is not the first time an issue was thrown to the head of the organization.

“If you see the history of the PNP… there are a lot of incidents like this. When they want to remove (the PNP chief) there will be issues coming out,” he said.

“History will tell you that several times the power struggle happens in PNP so I repeat, in the name of justice, fairness and impartiality, let’s release (the details of executive session),” Albayalde added.

Albayalde questioned the timing of the issue.

“One possibility is for me to not recommend, on whomever I recommend now will be a kiss of death,” he said.

By revealing the details of the executive session, the public can find out what is the motive of the sudden shift of issue from the controversial good conduct time allowance (GCTA) law inside the New Bilibid Prison to so-called ninja cops involved in the anomalous 2013 Pampanga drug raid.
