PNP says ”Bikoy” out of CIDG custody
June 25, 2019
The Philippine National Police ( PNP) on Tuesday said Peter Joemel Advincula alias ''Bikoy'', who claims to be behind the anti-Duterte videos on social media, has been out of police custody.
"Well, Mr. Advincula is free so he is out and not in the custody of PNP," said PNP spokesman Police Col. Bernard Banac in a press briefing.
Banac cannot recall when Advincula left the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)
It can be recalled Advincula was under custody of the CIDG while authorities are validating his allegations against some opposition senators who were allegedly behind the ouster plot against President Rodrigo Duterte.
Banac said this is why he stayed at CIDG but now that he's out, investigators will just call him when they need to validate information from his statement.
"Validation of his statement is ongoing and just like what we earlier said, we don't believe in everything he said... we need to prove and provide evidence on his allegations," he said.
He said so far, Advincula did not complain on receiving any threat to his life.
Advincula is the self-confessed "Bikoy" who retracted the statements he said during a series of videos against Duterte.
Advincula said he surrendered to the Philippine National Police after the camp of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV started to neglect him after the opposition candidates lost in the May midterm election. Ella Dionisio/DMS
