As the country commemorates the 123rd death anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine National Police on Monday said they derived inspiration from his supreme sacrifice.
“The Philippine National Police joins the Filipino nation in paying fitting tribute to our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal who selflessly sacrificed his own life for the attainment of precious freedom of the country from the hands of Spanish colonizers,” said Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa in a statement.
“Rizal took the opportunity to die a meaningful death and awaken the nation to rise from bondage. The men and women of the PNP derive inspiration from Rizal's supreme sacrifice that we too shall be honored to offer our's,” he added.
PNP said the country honor and cherish the memory of Rizal's martyrdom after his noble deeds and sacrifices to fight for our freedom from three centuries of Spanish rule.
“And through our public service, the PNP proved their whole-hearted public service for the country and be the home of the new heroes of generation,” Gamboa said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
