PNP says Moreno presenting suspects in presscon is his decision
July 25, 2019
The head of the Philippine National Police (PNP) said public presentation of suspects in Manila is the mayor's decision.
In a television interview on Thursday, Police General Oscar Albayalde said Manila Mayor Isko Moreno did not violate any policy by presenting arrested suspects in Manila during his press conference.
"Well it's his policy probably, not the PNP. That was his decision, not the decision of the PNP," Albayalde explained.
Albayalde said they no longer present suspects in public but other agencies may do it.
"Well remember even the NBI presented just recently suspects that were arrested, members of the ASG," he said.
"That depends on the department probably. We have a policy that we follow that we do not present anymore the suspects in pubic," he added. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
