PNP says revamp is part of officers’ career development
October 23, 2019
Some police officers were saddened and disappointed on the major revamp in the Philippine National Police ( PNP), its spokesman said on Wednesday.
“No one has the title and no one can hold on their position here in the Philippine National Police. This is part of the career development. If the leadership sees there is a need for movement, everyone is ready to follow,” said Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac in an interview.
“Of course some were saddened and disappointed but it’s part of our career development. We immediately make adjustment,” he added.
Banac said there are no low or high ranks in the organization.
“All positions are important in the Philippine National Police… everyone has a part in giving service to the people,” he said.
Banac said the situation is only temporary as they can immediately adjust.
Banac assured the public trust and support of the police officers on their officer-in-charge remains
“We are with Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa on the changes he want to implement on the Philippine National Police,” he said.
Around 20 police officers from different key positions were reshuffled which according to Gamboa was approved by President Rodrigo Duterte. Ella Dionisio/DMS
