The Philippine National Police ( PNP) will deploy around 35,000 officers to secure places for All Saints Day.
In a press briefing, Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, the PNP spokesperson, said a total of 35, 618 cops with 99, 716 volunteers or force multipliers will be deployed to help the public who will go home to their provinces.
“We have a total of 135, 334 security forces that will provide assistance to the people who will go home (to their provinces)… All airport, seaports, bus terminals will have enough security,” Banac said.
Banac said they have not received any threat so far.
“So, the public has nothing to worry with their security and can push through with their itineraries and travels,” said Banac.
He added that PNP’s officer-in-charge, Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa, is expected to inspect public ports and terminals.
For his part, National Capital Region Police Office acting director, Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas said they are prepared.
Sinas said they have the template for these events and he will meet with his district and city police officers to discuss how they can enhance their plans.
“We will deploy cops to all cemeteries and the NCRPO will be on red alert,” he said.
“We will see if we can declare this Monday or Tuesday,” he added. Ella Dionisio/DMS
