PNP to validate info on Duterte ouster

April 23, 2019

The Philippine National Police ( PNP) on Tuesday said they will conduct validation on the “Ouster Plot” matrix against President Rodrigo Duterte that was released by Malacanang Monday.

In a press briefing, Police General Oscar Albayalde said it is possible a portion of the report came from them but reiterated that Duterte has an unlimited access to information.

“Well probably a portion. I have not the talked with the director of the Directorate for Intelligence yet because he can report directly to the president if there is a specific instruction or the president has a specific question but then again the president has unlimited access to information,” Albayalde told reporters.

“Remember he has NICA ( National Intelligence Coordinating Agency) and all other agencies. It cannot only came from PNP if ever we have a participation there,” he added.

Though there are still no orders from the executive department, Albayalde said they are conducting validation so they will be prepared once they are asked for an explanation.

“We have not gotten a specific instruction or directive coming from the Office of the President yet to conduct investigation. We did not receive any memorandum as of this time or a directive as of this time. What we do is just like what we do if we get this kind of information. We conduct validation so that anytime we are asked for comments or information... we can give them immediate information,” he said.

“At least we are prepared and we are not waiting for anyone to order us,” he added.

Albayalde said he has yet to see the actual matrix but the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management and DI will start intelligence gathering.

“If there are complainant then the DIDM can file the complaint,” he said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
