PNP urges Filipinos to keep essence of Labor Day

Philippine National Police (PNP) General Oscar Albayalde on Wednesday urged Filipino laborers and police personnel to keep in their mind the real essence of the Labor Day celebration.
In a statement, Albayalde greeted the whole PNP organization as well as workers for a peaceful and meaningful Labor Day celebration
“As we celebrate Labor Day today, I hope keep in our minds and hearts the real essence of this celebration in a patriotic and Godly spirit with a desire to continue the development of our country and peaceful living despite of trials,” he said.
Albayalde said they respect everyone’s rights as thousands of laborers, which he called the backbone of our economy, rallied to express their beliefs on what is happening in our labor industry.
“What we request to everyone is to be alert and vigilant at all times, especially to those who have motive to sow chaos to ruin the peaceful celebration,” he said.
“As the country’s police, we will address any attempt of anyone who will create action against the law,” he added.
PNP requested the different progressive groups from different labor sector to maintain an orderly and peaceful celebration.
“As your police officer and servant that is also a worker, the PNP organization is ready and prepared to assist any needs of those who will join (protest) and appropriate step towards a peaceful celebration,” said Albayalde.
He assured the public that the PNP is open to any opinions and suggestions on how they can improve their security measures. Ella Dionisio/DMS
