The Philippine National Police (PNP) will submit its final recommendation on the 357 relieved cops due to alleged drug links to President Rodrigo Duterte on March 5.
In an interview with reporters Wednesday, PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa said the adjudication process has begun, with the director of intelligence presenting an initial recommendation.
“This will be contained in the final recommendation they are going to make and we will be having a joint command conference with the President and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on March 5. I intend to submit my recommendation on March 5,” Gamboa said.
Gamboa said 19 cops are marked AWOL or absent without leave.
“The balance of 43 minus 19, I told them look the only excuse they are going to have is when they can present a medical certificate that they have been admitted or what,” he said.
“As a matter of fact I told the (adjudication board): let's go ahead with the other validation adjudication first then the AWOL (cops) will follow but nevertheless all the 357 will still undergo adjudication,” he added.
Earlier, Gamboa said out of the 357 cops, one died while 15 have availed of optional retirement. Ella Dionisio/DMS
