PNP willing to investigate PhilHealth over dialysis issue
June 10, 2019
The Philippine National Police ( PNP) on Monday said they are willing to investigate the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) if President Rodrigo Duterte will give the order.
In a press briefing, Police General Oscar Albayalde said: “If we will be ordered to investigate PhilHealth then why not? We have to coordinate with PhilHealth because we cannot enter their agency without their cooperation or collaboration with them.”
Albayalde said the Crime Investigation and Detection Group ( CIDG) are conducting an investigation on WellMed Dialysis Center.
Police Major General Amador Corpus, CIDG director, said they are coordinating with their field unit at the Quezon City Police District.
On the report of a former WellMed Dialysis employee that the Novaliches Police Station only put the incident in the blotter, Albayalde asked for the name of the duty officer to ask why there is no action on the complaint.
“Whoever is that policeman, please give us the name because we have an order that police should act immediately. There should be an immediate action after the blotter,” he said.
Albayalde assured the public that once they find out the officer did not take immediate action, he will be relieved from service as well as his chief of police.
“We will not hesitate to relieve even the chief of police or whoever is the investigator there...we will file administrative charges against them,” said Albayalde. Ella Dionisio/DMS
