March 10, 2020
The Philippine National Police Academy's (PNPA) on Tuesday announced the postponement of their alumni homecoming to a ''later date'' due to the threat of novel coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
In a statement, PNPA Alumni Association board of trustees chairman William Macavinta said the event, originally scheduled from March 12-15, will be “postponed to a later date.”
“This is due to the declaration of state of public health emergency by the President. We will inform you of the development taking the cue from the Department of Health (DOH),” Macavinta said.
In a separate statement sent to reporters, the PNPA said the board of trustees decided to postpone the activity in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration of state of public health emergency.
“(It is also) to maximize the participation of all Lakans in undertaking critical, urgent and appropriate response and measure with the end goal of ensuring public safety and well-being of the community,” it said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
