Police arrest two alleged communist leaders in Sarangani

Two alleged communist leaders were arrested in Sarangani Province early Monday morning.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Lino Capellan, spokesperson of the Soccsksargen regional office, said arrested were Ngo Magaw alias Proting. team leader of Segunda, Platoon Samsung under Sub-Regional Committee-Musa of the NPA’s Guerilla Front and Bwen Malantaw alias Doming, team leader of Platoon 1 of the same Sub-Regional Committee.
Capellan said joint police and military operatives conducted operation at Sitio Buting, Barangay Bati-an, Maitum in Sarangani Province around 5am.
They were wanted for murder after being tagged as responsible in the killing of Pastor Jun Sebastian last December 15 last year in Barangay Kalaneg in Maitum, Sarangani.
Six alleged rebels also surrendered to the authorities on the same day and turned over two hand grenade, one pistol and one revolver.
Capellan said these numbers add up to the 110 communist rebels who have surrendered, arrested and neutralized under their regional director, Police Brigadier General Alfred Corpus.
They were all under the custody at the regional headquarters at General Santos City for debriefing, documentation and proper disposition. Ella Dionisio/DMS
