Police have identified the suspect in the fatal stabbing of a radio commentator in Butuan City on Saturday.
Brig. Gen. Gilbert Cruz, Caraga police director, ordered his men to find Ulating Barapangcat, alias Ola Saransamen.
Witnesses tagged Barapangcat as the killer of Francisco Patindol, commentator of radio station dxJM.
“Our policemen are not resting and followup operations are ongoing,” Cruz said in an interview over dzBB.
A concerned citizen whom Cruz did not identify offered a P50,000 bounty for any information leading to the suspect's arrest.
Patindol and his companions were outside Albay Copy Center in Barangay New Society Village when the suspect stabbed him with a knife at around 10 a.m.
He died while being treated at the MJ Santos Hospital.
Citing witnesses' accounts, Cruz said Barapangcat was drunk when he stabbed the radio commentator.
“For no apparent reason, this suspect who was drunk approached the victim and stabbed him,” he said. DMS
