May 3, 2019
Police on Friday said there is no foul play on the death of restaurateur Vic Vic Villavicencio at the age 77 last Tuesday but an investigation is ongoing
It was first reported that the founder of Triple V Group of Companies, which owns the famous buffet restaurants Dad's, Kamayan, and Sambo Kojin, died last April 30 due to a heart attack inside his residence at North Greenhills in San Juan City.
But it was revealed by authorities that he accidentally shot himself.
In a radio interview, the deputy chief of police of San Juan City, Police Lieutenant Colonel John Burgos said three persons of interest, including Villavicencio's son, who were with him when the incident happened, were found negative of gunpower burns in a paraffin test.
Burgos said they are still investigating if this is a case of suicide
"We are investigating (if it's suicide). (The cause of his death) is still accidental firing," he said.
He said Villavicencio's left arm was found positive for gunpowder burns.
"Based on SOCO ( Scene of the Crime Operatives) report, his left arm is positive (for gun powder burns)," he added.
Investigation is still ongoing, according to Burgos. Ella Dionisio/DMS
