Police rescue 14 foreign women, including a Japanese, from alleged human trafficking in Paranaque

The Philippine National Police- Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) rescued 14 foreign women, including a Japanese, who were alleged victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation in Paranaque City Thursday evening.

In a phone interview with a WCPC official, they were able to rescue 10 Chinese, three Vietnamese and one Japanese.

According to them, one of the victims contacted them Thursday afternoon asking for help.

A joint rescue operation was immediately conducted by the WCPC at Bayview International Tower 1, in Roxas Boulevard, Parañaque City around 7:45 pm.

Authorities were able to rescue the foreign nationals and arrest one Chinese caretaker

“We were only there for the rescue operation… we have yet to identify who is facilitating them,” the official said.

The victims and suspect were all brought to Camp Crame for proper documentation and disposition.

The arrested caretaker will face charges for violation of Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012. Ella Dionisio/DMS
