Police to exercise ”maximum tolerance” during SONA

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will exercise "maximum tolerance" on Monday for President Rodrigo Duterte's fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA).
"The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is utilizing its maximum capacity in order to ensure the safety and security of the citizenry and the President as he deliver his 4th State of the Nation Address," NCRPO Regional Director Major General Guillermo Eleazar said in a statement.
PNP is set to deploy 14,000 cops on Monday for the SONA.
Eleazar said among the security groundwork they will implement on Monday are strategic personnel deployment as well as the presence of civil disturbance management, traffic management and emergency eesponse team.
PNP have prepared contingency measures, intelligence, counter terrorism and anti-crime operations.
"We will be vigilant for all possible terroristic or criminal elements who may want to take advantage of our disposition of maximum tolerance," he added. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
