PPCRV receives initial unofficial results of senatorial race at 6:05pm; Villar leading

Election watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting ( PPCRV) has started to receive the partial unofficial results of the senatorial elections five minutes after the polling precincts in the country closed at 6pm on Monday.

Based on the PPCRV-Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas' (KBP) transparency server, as of 6:05pm, 330 or 0.38 percent of the 85,769 clustered precincts have been electronically transmitted.

Administration ally, Senator Cynthia Villar (Nacionalista Party) was the frontrunner with 93,660 votes, followed by independent candidate reelectionist Senator Grace Poe with 83,258 votes.

Ruling PDP-Laban candidate and former presidential aide Christopher "Bong" Go was at third place, receiving 73,786 votes.

The remaining top 15 senatorial bets as of 6:05pm were the following: Pia Cayetano (NP), 72,105 votes; Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa (PDP-Laban), 67,102; Edgardo "Sonny" Angara (LDP), 65,916; Imee Marcos (NP), 65,816; Lito Lapid (NPC), 65,753; Francis Tolentino (PDP-Laban), 56,274; Nancy Binay (UNA), 55,616; Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. (Lakas), 53,528; JV Estrada Ejercito (NPC), 52,097; Benigno "Bam"Aquino (LP), 51,605; Koko Pimentel (PDP-Laban), 51,017; Jinggoy Estrada (PMP), 43,508; and Mar Roxas (LP), 36,004.

PPCRV said that their 100 volunteers who would compare the results of the fourth copy of the election returns with that of the results transmitted at the transparency server would start validation and comparison on Tuesday morning. Celerina Monte/DMS
