PSE index cuts early losses to end flat

The main Philippine stock index reduced its early losses to close flat on Wednesday.
The peso settled at P52.211 against the US dollar from Tuesday's P52.15. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached P1.041 billion from $1.225 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index, down by 87.19 points at noon, closed 2.30 points higher to P7,896,.20. In the broader market, there were 145 losers, 59 gainers and 48 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 617.20 million shares worth P5.78 billion from Tuesday's 899.97 million shares valued at P8.5 billion.
Most valued shares were led by Universal Robina Corp., down P7.40 to P158.60; Ayala Corp., up P8.00 to P908, Ayala Land, up 25 centavos to P49.30 and Jollibee, down P 1.00 to P219. DMS
