PSE index cuts losses

The main Philippine index reduced its losses as trading resumed after Christmas break on Thursday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed 30.32 points lower to 7,842.38 points. The index lost 99.63 points 10 minutes after trading began.
In the broader market, there were 105 gainers, 81 losers while 50 were unchanged.
Volume reached 911.47 million shares worth P3.6 billion from Monday's 478.95 million shares valued at P8.3 billion.
The peso closed at P50.821 against the US dollar from Monday's P50.83. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.076.07 billion from the previous session's $757 million. DMS
