PSE index declines, but peso closes at P50.90:$1

The main Philippine share index declined Tuesday after it hit its highest level since March 2018.
But the peso finished with a slight gain, ending at P50.90 against the US dollar from P51 on Monday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.045 billion from $744.06 million on the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 8,263.57, down 101.72 points. In the broader market, there were 121 gainers, 85 losers and 48 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.21 billion shares worth P10.49 billion from Monday's 1.59 billion shares valued at P8.51 billion.
Most active shares were led by BPI, up P6.10 to P90; Ayala Corp., up P12 to P942; Ayala Land, down P1.70 to P51.80 and BDO, down P7.80 to P146.20. DMS
