PSE index ends above 8,000 points

The main Philippine stock index closed higher on Monday, a day before the government releases inflation figures for October.
The peso closed at P50.50 from Friday's P50.74. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $869.50 million from the previous session's $1,16 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index settled at 8,059.15 points, up 82.53 points. In the broader market, there were 120 gainers, 62 losers and 41 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.15 billion worth P6.57 billion from Friday's 1.10 billion valued at P7.76 billion.
Most traded shares were led by SM Investment Corp., down P5 to P1,025; Ayala Corp. up P4.00 to P64 and Ayala Land, up 45 centavos to P49. DMS
