PSE index ends at five-month high

The main Philippine stock index rose to its highest in five months on Friday.
The peso closed at P51.195 against the US dollar from P51.13 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $770.24 million from the previous day's $775.7 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index settled at 8,117.94 points, up 53.02. In the broader market, there were 116 losers, 80 winners and 53 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 759.24 million shares worth P5.49 billion from Thursday's 740.03 million shares valued at P5.06 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 80 centavos to P52.20; BDO, up P1.60 to P143 and Ayala Corp., up P9.00 to P910. DMS
