PSE index ends at highest level since March 2018

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index on Monday finished at its highest since March 2018 as it hit bull market territory.
The index closed at 8, 365.39, up 223.47 points. In the broader market, there were 124 gainers, 62 losers and 56 unchanged.
The peso surged to P51 against the US dollar, up 13 centavos from Friday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $744.96 million from $910.96 million on the previous session.
But PSE volume reached 1.59 billion shares worth P8.5 billion from Friday's 3.39 billion shares valued at P6.86 billion.
Most active shares were led by BPI, up P2.85 to P83.90; Metrobank, up P4.50; BDO, up P5.80 to P154 and Ayala Corp., up P13 to P930. DMS
