PSE index ends higher

The main Philippine share index closed higher on Thursday.
The peso settled at P50.58 against the US dollar from P50.54 on Wednesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.235 billion from the previous session's $998.3 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 7,413 points, up 16.26 points. In the broader market, there were 90 gainers. 84 losers and 54 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.86 billion shares worth P5.79 billion from Wednesday's 821.16 million shares valued at P6.49 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 25 centavos to P42.45; BPI, down 20 centavos to P85; SM Prime, up 55 centavos to P41.65 and Metrobank, up P1.60 to P60.60. DMS
