PSE index ends lower

The main Philippine share index closed lower on Wednesday.
The peso settled at P51.02 against the US dollar from P50.951. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.428 billion from $1.499 billion on the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 7,815.93 points, down 39.25. In the broader market, there were 122 losers, 58 gainers and 47 unchanged.
Volume reached 644.07 million shares worth P7.72 billion from Tuesday's 480.81 million shares valued at P5.06 billion,
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., down P7 to P1,062; Ayala Land, down P1.25 to P46, Metro Pacific Investment, down 47 centavos to P3.92 and Ayala Corp., down P1.50 to P830. DMS
