PSE index ends lower, peso at P51.93:$1

The main Philippine share index closed lower on Thursday.
The peso closed at P51.93 against the US dollar from P52.15. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.170 billion from $1.436 billion on Wednesday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index settled at 7,944.43, down 23.47. In the broader market, there were 96 losers, 93 gainers and 50 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 702 million shares worth P6.7 billion from Wednesday's 713.5 million valued at P6.67 billion.
Most active shares were led by Jollibee, down P3.80 to P222.40; SM Investment Corp., down P11 to P1.014 and Metrobank, down 25 centavos to P69.50. DMS
