PSE index ends lower, peso flat vs US dollar

The main Philippine share index ended lower while the peso was flat against the US dollar on Thursday.
The peso settled at P50.865 from Wednesday's P50.87. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.438 billion from $947 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 7,818.17, down 79.19. In the broader market, there were 157 losers, 38 gainers and 41 unchanged.
Volume reached 781.11 million shares worth P5.7 billion from Wednesday's 1.73 billion shares valued at P4.13 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 50 centavos to P45.20; SM Prime, down 80 centavos to P39; ICTSI, down P2.00 to P122 and Ayala Corp., down P13 to P811. DMS
