PSE index ends short trading week higher

The main Philippine share index closed higher on Friday.
The peso ended at P51.09 against the US dollar from P50.685 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.598 billion from $944.55 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 7,839.70 points, up 97.26 points. In the broader market, there were 108 gainers, 68 losers and 59 unchanged.
Volume reached 659.2 million shares worth P5.6 billion from Thurssday's 945.64 million shares valued at P4.48 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up 55 centavos to P42.80; Ayala Land, down 15 centavos to P44.75; BDO, up P1.00 to P155 and Manila Water, down 48 centavos to P9.22. DMS
