PSE index flat, peso declines vs US dollar

The main Philippine share index ended flat while the peso declined against the US dollar on Monday.
The peso settled at P52.185 from Friday's 51.86. Volume at the foreign exchange portal at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1,258 billion from $1.144 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 7,867.51, down 3.60 points. In the broader market, there were 149 losers, 57 gainers and 45 unchanged.
Volume reached 3.35 billion shares worth P5.86 billion from Friday's 2.69 billion shares valued at P10.17 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., down P6.00 to P889; SM Prime, up 70 centavos to P35,45 and Jollibee, up 20 centavos to P220.20. DMS
