PSE index flat, peso ends slightly lower vs US dollar

The main Philippine stock index ended flat while peso settled lower against the US dollar on Monday.
The peso ended at P52.28 from P51.98 on Friday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.325 billion from $1.172 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed at 7,996.90, up 4.58 points. In the broader market, there were 131 losers, 68 gainers and 47 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 942.23 million worth P4.97 billion from Friday's 7,12 billion shares valued at P4.53 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Ayala Land, unchanged at P49.90; Semirara Mining and Power Corp., up 20 centavos to P23.95 and SM Prime, up 15 centavos to P34.15. DMS
