PSE index flat, peso ends slightly lower vs US dollar

The main Philippine stock index ended flat while the peso declined against the US dollar on Wednesday.
The peso settled at P51.16 from Tuesday's P51.11. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $924.2 million from the previous session's $931.4 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed at 8,092.68 points, down 0.92 points. In the broader market, there were 98 losers, 90 gainers while 73 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 1.31 billion shares worth P7.62 billion from Tuesday's 981.97 million shares valued at P5.93 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., up P3.00 to P903; SM Investment Corp., down P2.00 to P994 and BDO, down 10 centavos to P139.40. DMS
