PSE index flat, peso slightly lower vs US dollar

The key stock index ended flat while the peso was slightly lower against the US dollar on Tuesday.
The peso settled at P51.135 from Monday's P51,076. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $754.11 million from $725.91 million in the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 8,251.46 points, up 4.63. In the broader market, there were 103 losers, 88 gainers while 57 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 1.45 billion shares worth P6.72 billion from Monday's 862.56 million shares valued at P5.99 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., unchanged at P970; Ayala Equity Ventures, down 45 centavos to P56.55; BDO, up P1.60 to P151 and PLDT, down P36 to P1148. DMS
