PSE index flat, peso up vs US dollar

The main Philippine stock index ended flat, but the peso gained against the US dollar on Tuesday.
The peso closed at P50.73 from Monday's P50.86. Volume reached $1.553 billion from $1.046 billion in the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 8,012.34 points, up 2.96 points. In the broader market, there were 100 losers, 76 gainers and 57 unchanged.
Volume went down to 489.23 million shares worth P4.73 billion from Monday's 827.87 million shares valued at P5.39 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Ayala Corp., down P16 to P840; BDO, up P1.40 to P156.40 and Alliance Global, up 36 centavos to P11.64. DMS
