PSE index gains but peso declines vs US dollar

The main stock index gained but the peso declined against the US dollar on Wednesday.
The peso finished at P52.11 from Tuesday's P51.865. Volume at the foreign exchange of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.011 billion from $966.28 million on the previous day.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed 16.06 higher to end at 7,926.69. In the broader market, there were 133 decliners, 63 gainers and 46 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 790.4 million worth P7.12 billion from Tuesday's 513.19 million valued at P5.5 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 0.11 percent to P47; SM Prime, down 1.37 percent to P39.50 and ICTSI, down 1.03 percent to P135. DMS
