PSE index gains, peso slightly declines vs US dollar

The main Philippine share index ended higher on Thursday.
The peso settled at P50.585 against the US dollar from P50.551 on Wednesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $945.45 million from the previous session's $1.187 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index finished 17.51 points higher to 6,884,77 points. In the broader market, there were 97 gainers, 76 losers and 57 unchanged.
Volume reached 978.55 million shares worth P6.02 billion from Wednesday's 652.41 million valued at P6.08 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, unchanged at P39,50; SM Investment Corp., up P5.00 to P950 and PLDT, up P28 to P1,043. DMS
