PSE index jumps for third straight session

The main Philippine share market jumped seven percent as it ended higher for the third straight session on Thursday.
The peso settled at P51.07 against the US dollar from P51.14 on Wednesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $420.1 million from the previous session's $642.6 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ({PSE) index finished at 5,401.58 points, up 373.82. In the broader market, there were 151 winners, 48 losers and 26 unchanged.
Volume reached 590.86 million shares worth P7.67 billion from Wednesday's 929.07 million shares valued at P8.29 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up P4 to P31; SM Investment Corp., up P45 to P845; Ayala Land, up P1.60 to P32.30 and BDO, up P15.70 to P115.70. DMS
