PSE index loses ground

The main Philippine share index ended lower Monday.
The peso settled at P 50.78 against the US dollar from P50.755 on Friday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $581.4 million from $771.92 million on Friday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index finished at 7,430.86 points, down 76.34.
In the broader market, there were 105 losers, 71 gainers and 54 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.67 billion shares worth P8.68 billion from Friday's 2.86 billion valued at P5.33 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime. down five centavos to P40.30; Ayala Land, down 35 centavos to P43.70; Manila Water, down 20 centavos to P43.70 and ABS-CBN, down 30 centavos to P16.70. DMS
