PSE index lower, peso slightly up vs US dollar

The main Philippine share index closed lower while the peso gained slightly against the US dollar on Friday.
The peso finished at P51.135 from Thursday's P51.24. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.396 billion from $1.225 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index ended at 7,922.50, down 28.45 points. In the broader market, there were 110 losers, 75 gainers and 55 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.39 billion shares valued at P6.97 billion from Thursday's 660.11 million shares worth P5.19 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., down P3.00 to P1,027; LT Group, up 14 centavos to P13.36; BPI, up P1.85 to P99 and Universal Robina Corp., down P1.00 to P150. DMS
