PSE index, peso decline

The key Philippine share index fell nearly three percent and the peso declined against the US dollar on Monday.
The peso closed at P51.79 from Friday's P51.43. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.39 billion from $1.268 billion on Friday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 7,890.02, down 239.91 points. The 239.91-point decline was its lowest since January 2016.
In the broader market, there were 149 losers, 55 gainers while 47 were unchanged.
Volume reached 964.96 million shares worth P6.37 billion from Friday's 1.79 billion shares valued at P6.68 billion.
Most active shares were led by Jollibee, down P11 to P247; ICTSI, down P5.10 to P124.60; SM Investment Corp., down P32 to P968 and BDO, down P4 to P146. DMS
