PSE index, peso end higher

The main Philippine stock index and the peso closed higher on Friday.
The peso ended at P51.73 against the US dollar from P51.815. In the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines, volume reached $1.122.81 billion from the previous day's $1.186 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 7,704.60, up 159.05. In the broader market, there were 112 gainers, 60 losers and 46 unchanged.
Volume reached 420.38 million shares worth P5.08 billion from Thursday's 570.16 million shares valued at P8.3 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., down P8.00 to P840; ICTSI, up 40 centavos to P121 and Alliance Global, up 82 centavos to P11.28. DMS
