PSE index, peso end higher

The main Philippine share index and the peso ended higher on Tuesday.
The peso finished at P51,77 against the US dollar from P51.86. Volume at the foreign exchange portal reached $1.129 billion from the previous day's $828.6 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index ended at 7,756.72 points, up 73.50. In the broader market, there were 116 gainers, 66 losers and 51 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.019 billion shares worth P6.95 billion from Monday's 712.03 million shares valued at P5.84 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up 25 centavos to P38.20; Universal Robina Corp., up P2.30 to P160, Bloomberry, down 0.02 centavos to P11 and Axelum Resources, up one centavo to P4.70. DMS
