PSE index, peso end higher

The Philippine stock index ended higher but the broader market ended lower as trades ended mixed on Tuesday.
The peso settled at P51.99 against the US dollar from Monday's P52.145. Turnover at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $763.91 million from the previous session's $955.73 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 7,922.04 points, up 13.15 points. In the broader market, there were 100 decliners, 96 gainers while 54 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 1.66 billion shares worth P7.96 billion from Monday's 663.59 million shares valued at P5.02 billion,
Most traded shares were led by Metrobank, up one peso to P72.60; Ayala Land, down 60 centavos to P49.90 and Ayala Corp., up 50 centavos to P900. DMS
